The latest Adobe Lightroom AI innovations make professional-level photo editing accessible to everyone

Adobe has announced the release of new AI innovations for the Lightroom ecosystem, which includes Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, Lightroom Mobile, and Web.

These new features are designed to make photo editing accessible to everyone and enable users to bring their creative visions to life regardless of their location.

Powered by Adobe Sensei AI, the new features offer intuitive editing and streamlined workflows. Adaptive presets and Masking categories have been expanded, allowing users to adjust even the finest details, such as the color of the sky or the texture of a person's beard, with a single click.

Other features, such as Denoise and Curves in masking, help to save time and allow users to focus on capturing the perfect shot.

These enhancements, coupled with Lightroom's existing feature set, including travel presets, make it easy to capture and edit photos of your adventures this summer, whether you're on a photo walk, attending a family gathering, or embarking on a big trip. All of the new features are available now, so why not give them a try?

Speed up your workflows with precise AI-powered tools like Denoise.

Lightroom's advanced AI feature Denoise allows you to improve the quality of your images by removing digital noise without compromising on the details.

This feature is particularly useful when dealing with high ISO files in low light situations, such as capturing a sunset at the beach, taking evening shots of the city, or at a dimly lit birthday party. Denoise is now available for RAW files, with additional file types being supported in the near future.

New Curves in the masking feature

Achieve highly tailored and precise edits with the new Curves in masking feature available in Lightroom for Mac/Win, Lightroom Classic, and ACR. With this feature, you can fine-tune contrast, tone, and color in specific regions of your image for the perfect look.

This powerful tool allows for meticulous control over tonality and color, making it ideal for a range of applications, from landscape photography to Portrait retouching.

Enhance shadow detail, correct color balance, or add creative effects to a landscape photo, or selectively add warmth or brighten specific areas of a portrait without affecting overall exposure.

More AI Mask Categories Available for Specific Individuals

At the October 2022 Adobe MAX event, Adobe unveiled Select People, which significantly simplifies the editing and retouching of portraits.

With the latest updates, it is now feasible to generate automated masks for specific people or groups in any portrait, allowing for accurate modifications to Clothing and facial hair. This implies that you can effortlessly choose a shirt and alter its color, or select a beard and adjust its darkness or texture.

Additional Adaptive Presets Available for Portraits

Last year, Adobe introduced Adaptive Presets, a novel category of premium presets. By leveraging the advanced capabilities of AI masking, you can now effortlessly apply presets that automatically enhance specific areas of your photo with just a single click or tap.

The latest additions to the Adaptive Presets family include Polished Portrait, Darken Beard, and Enhance Clothing. Polished Portrait facilitates smoothing the skin, refining facial features, and enhancing lighting for a desired look. Alternatively, use Darken Beard to darken facial hair for greater impact or Enhance Clothing to increase contrast, saturation, and texture, highlighting outfit details and enhancing definition for standout photos.

These new Adaptive Presets are now included in our existing library, which features a variety of presets such as Enhance, Glamour, Whiten Teeth, and Texturize Hair.

Black & White Video in Lightroom

Last year, Adobe introduced video support in Lightroom, enabling you to use the same editing controls for your videos as you do for your photographs.

Today, Adobe is thrilled to announce that you can now easily create a sleek black-and-white look for your videos with just one click. This feature allows you to achieve the classic film aesthetic, adding a sophisticated touch to your video projects.

Not only does this new video feature save you time, but it also allows you to apply the black-and-white treatment to multiple video clips, giving them a cohesive look and feel. This new feature is currently available on Lightroom for Mac/Win, iOS, and Lightroom on Web, with Android support coming soon.

Masking Features and Adaptive Presets

Adobe's team is dedicated to bringing the most beloved features of Lightroom to the web. Adobe announces that you can now access the power of AI masking on the web, starting with our selective adjustment tools.

AI Masking for Select Subject, Sky, and Background is now accessible in Lightroom on the web. This means you can easily detect and create an adaptive mask based on the image contents with just one tap, all without leaving your browser or downloading an app.

Additionally, Adobe released all of the adaptive presets, including Whiten Teeth, Glamour, and the new portraits mentioned above, for Lightroom on the web. You can now apply these presets automatically to enhance specific areas of your photo, creating stunning results with ease. These features are available on Lightroom for Mac/Win, Lightroom Classic, ACR, iOS, Android, and Lightroom on the web.

New Features to Explore on Lightroom Mobile (iOS)

Adobe has recently added some exciting features to Lightroom Mobile that you can try out today!

Firstly, you can now export your photos with a frame or border in Lightroom mobile. This feature creates a unique effect that draws attention to your image or creates visual consistency for branding purposes. Exporting with the "Add border and share" option also helps you format images to fit popular social media aspect ratios.

In addition to this, Lightroom has 18 premium travel presets to help you turn your photos into something truly amazing. These presets allow you to experiment with color combinations and editing techniques, unlocking endless creative possibilities.

Applying multiple adjustments to a photo with the tap of a button saves you valuable time and achieves professional-looking results. These features are currently available on Lightroom Mobile for iOS.
