White balance adjustment - is a technology for image colors correction that is performed with the help of adjusting parameters of the camera or during the post processing, that should correct too warm or too cool colors, that appeared as the result of the lighting of the shooting scene. And it's worth noting that if the photo was taken in RAW format, the subsequent adjustments would be more successful and efficient, and therefore, the white balance can be suitably changed without noticeable errors in Lightroom. At that, the changes can be made for the purpose of correcting the wrong balance as well for artistic purposes. For sure, all these changes can be applied to the JPG, but this variant is not so good as the errors in correction can be noticed, or it can be unsuccessful (everything depends on the JPG). Well, then let's have a look at all three ways of white balance correction in Lightroom.

Method №1 - Auto

The first way of the white balance correction is fulfilled through the drop-down menu. This is the most popular method since people usually are too lazy to customize and try to improve something, it is easier for them to press the required option once and see the result. When choosing this method, you are offered 9 options, that you can also see on your camera when adjusting the white balance. These options are match with the conditions in which the shooting process is conducted (daylight, flash, cloudy, etc.) and automatic adjustment mode which sets the best (in its opinion) white balance. You just need to choose one of them in order to see the adjusted result, if it doesn’t do , then choose the other. If you upload a JPG instead of RAW file format, then you will seem just two options: automatic and preset.

Method №2 - Manual

The second method consists in determining this most notorious balance by eye. There are two sliders in the section that allows to adjust the white balance in Lightroom in the right panel. One serves to fix temperature of photos and the other for tint.

Temperature - the slider changes the color temperature of photos. Move to the left compensatesthe warmth of an image, making it more cold and lifeless. Move to the right, on the contrary, makes a photo more warm and adds pleasant tones.

Tint - the slider is used to compensate the color of the image from purple to green. First, you need to adjust the temperature of an image, and only then its tint to neutralize the correction errors presented as of green or purple veil, which are left due to unnatural light sources such as fluorescent lamps.

 Method №3 - Eyedropper

This is my favorite method of changing the white balance of photos in Lightroom. To do this, use the eyedropper tool, which is placed in the white balance adjustment section in the right panel. To correct the balance, it is necessary to look at the image and to find a gray area and click on it with an eyedropper. After doing so your photo should get natural colors. Check if everything is OK by placing an eyedropper on gray, color balance indicators (R, G and B)  at the bottom in the appeared window should be approximately equal. If there is no gray color on your photo, then look for a neutral color, namely, the color where the R, G and B indicators are almost the same. This is the best way to adjust the white balance on pictures taken in JPEG format.
